Following an otherworldly performance at the Barbican Centre in March, Japanese singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Ichiko Aoba returns to the UK for a performance at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in March 2026. She will be once again joined by the London’s 12 Ensemble, one of the UK’s most dynamic and adventurous string collectives.
To listen to Aoba is to enter a world both intimate and vast: as close as a warmly lit home, yet cosmic in scope. Her latest album, Luminescent Creatures, fuses the jazz-inflected folk of her early work with the orchestral dreamscapes of her 2020 opus Windswept Adan. It marks the culmination of a career spanning over 15 years, during which she has collaborated with Japanese icons including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, Cornelius, and more.
